I like those socks. I like the way the pattern makes little paths through the nice even stripes in the yarn.

I don't know a thing about knittery, but those are some really sweet socks!

Nice socks! I've had that pattern printed out for a long time and I'm the same as you...haven't learned toe-up yet. I think for me it's just laziness in learning something that sounds so tricky.

I had no problem following the magic cast-on for toe up socks:
Good luck!

Cute socks!

Beautiful socks! I'm afraid of toe-ups, too. The provisional cast-ons are what get me. That and all the talk of wraps and short rows. Someday...

Cognitive Crafter

I used the instructions from Sensational Knitted Socks to knit the toe-up variety and I'm digging it. The only problem I had was that the instructions for the short-row heel sucked. Claude showed me how to do it and now it's my favorite heel.

Your Lorna's Laces knitted up so nicely! The stripes are nice an even and the pattern you chose flatters the yarn. Mine, eh, not so nice. The colors pooled and the stripes are kinda crazy.
